Navtec, the Sicilian cluster of maritime transport, founded in 2008 as part of strategies and lines of action adopted by the Sicilian Region in research, innovation and technology transfer, is a consortium of companies engaged in the transport sector naval.
It acts following the triple helix model through the creation of synergies between the business world and research. The aims of the cluster are:
· to support the development of scientific research and technological innovation, according to a logic of supply chain, capable of enhancing the capabilities inside the region to increase the competitiveness of the socio-economic Sicilian system within the EU and internationally;
· to boost collaboration and technology transfer between universities, research centers, public and private entities, and manufacturing sectors.
Research, innovation and training are the pillars of the "knowledge triangle" for the achievement of higher levels of technical and economic competitiveness.
RESEARCH - Navtec promotes scientific research and develops innovative projects, initiating technology transfer between universities, research centers, public and private companies.
INNOVATION - The Cluster aims to transform the economy of the sea, thanks to networking activities, international cooperation, supporting intellectual property management process, marketing of innovative technologies and the creation of spin-offs.
TRAINING - Navtec, in synergy with research projects, promotes training and studies, to improve the skills and the strengthening of human capital in the field of shipbuilding.
Membership is restricted to companies operating in the south of Italy, in particular with operating headquarters in Sicily, Campania, Apulia and Calabria.
We actively look for foreign partners willing to cooperate in international projects in the shipbuilding sector.
